New FTC Rules

I haven’t read much about the new FTC rules that became law yesterday, but I thought I’d pass on a couple of good links to other blog posts talking about the subject. I’ll update this post with more links as I run across them and comment when I know more about how to deal with the rules.

Common Sense Fix To Our Nation’s Financial Future

I listen to Dave Ramsey everyday during my drive home for lunch. I credit him with the wisdom to help millions of people get out of debt and start living the lives they deserve. I also credit him with giving Brent and I the knowledge we needed to do the same. So yes, I think Dave Ramsey is a smart man.

I also think he has a lot of connections and knows a lot of very smart people, or at least knows where to find the smart people. Today he presented a Common Sense Fix for our nation’s current financial catastrophe. Dave said this wasn’t his plan but he did a good job packaging it and he agrees with it wholeheartedly.

Well, I agree with it as well. These are things that have been talked about for weeks but have never really been taken into consideration, well, if Congress did take them under consideration, the public knew nothing about it. Anyway, that’s why I’m writing this post, because I agree with this Common Sense Fix and I want everyone I can tell to read it and if in agreement, write your Congressman and Senators TODAY!

Here’s the link to the page on Dave Ramsey’s site with step by step instructions. He explains the fix very well in simple terms. He also gives you the text for your email. He even makes it easy to find your Congressman and Senators with links to a site that lists them and provides links to their webforms.

If you click the link to find your Congressman and nothing happens, that’s a good thing. It means a lot of people are trying to access the site to send their thoughts as well. Just be patient and keep trying, eventually you’ll get through. Your thoughts with a little prayer will hopefully help our leaders to make the right decisions.
